12pm

We love driving to Bath for a warm chicken ciabatta sandwich from Green Street butcher’s. They’re so good, I’d drive from London for one. I think life’s too short not to eat what you want. But I quite like fasting until lunch, it suits me. I can’t cook at all; fortunately James is brilliant. Family lunches at the cottage often turn into dinners, drinking red wine and sitting by the outside fire with hot-water bottles and candlelight.

2pm

If we’re not having a long lunch, then we might set off and discover a nearby town or a National Trust property. I’m a complete nerd, I like guided history walks in places like Bradford-on-Avon. I love hearing about the architecture and people’s lives. It fills my brain so I don’t think about work. I also like to wander into churches – the space and the quiet. Hearing choirs sing is so touching. I went to a Catholic convent for my schooling and my husband went to a monastery. I wouldn’t say I’m religious but there is a sort of spiritual need.

5pm

I really believe in massage, it makes me feel a lot better. There’s a local therapist who is incredible.

7pm

We meet friends for supper at Upstairs at Landrace in Bath – it’s excellent – or more locally, at The Salutation Inn just off the Fosse Way. It’s very low-key, full of farmers and locals. I don’t need Notting Hill at the weekends. Likewise, I’m actively not fashionable on a Saturday, in a cosy jumper and jeans with Birkenstocks, and scrubby exercise clothes during the day.

9pm

Recently, we’ve been watching my son [Bert Seymour], who’s an actor, in Masters of the Air [on Apple TV+], set in the Second World War. But we also love a trashy box set, nothing too high-brow.

10.30pm

I go to bed as early as I can. I know, I’m so uncool at the weekends!
